Question

Since 3 years I am working within the HR Area. Does your school have any speciall courses in HR Area and do you have companies seeking for HR Professionals? I found it's hard to find an HR specific MBA. Would you recommend to apply to your school with a HR-Career as a goal?

Alena,

Thank you for your message.

We do not have any specific HR course. However, there are various Organisational Behaviour electives available on our MBA and these cover many of the issues you are interested in:

Answer from Warwick Business School:

Dear Alena

The Warwick MBA is by design and intention a generalist MBA, because we believe that is that what the term 'MBA' means. So although participants can concentrate on their specialist areas of interest, such as HR, through a careful choice of elective courses, they must also complete the core courses. This ensures a rounded comprehensive coverage of all aspects of 'business administration'.

Perhaps you could consider looking at a Specialist Masters in HR? Here at WBS we teach a Master of Arts degree in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management. If you would like to find out more about this you are most welcome to browse our website at http://www.wbs.ac.uk/students/masters/industrial_relations/

Yours sincerely

Answer from Manchester Business School:

Dear Alena,

Ours is a general MBA covering all the main disciplines. HR is covered and we also run an elective in International Human Resource Management, but we do not specialise in this area.

If you would like me to send you a brochure please send me your address details.

Please do not hesitate to contact me should you require any further information or assistance.

Kind Regards

Answer from The Open University Business School:

Dear Alena Wunder
The Open University Business School does not offer an HR specific MBA. Aspects of HR management are covered in the course as they are core part of management. To see what HR areas our modules offer I suggest you visit out website at www.oubs.open.ac.uk. OUBS does not offer any placement service.
