Question

I have finished the first year ("Foundations of Senior Management") of a 3 year distance MBA with the Open University Business School. I have now moved to Australia and will therefore not be able to complete my MBA. I am wondering if there is any option to get at least some sort of formal recognition for the studies I have done so far, maybe by way of a short upgrade course or something similiar at your institution.
Dear Sir or Madam, I have finished the first year ("Foundations of Senior Management") of a 3 year distance MBA with the Open University Business School. Despite the fact that this one-year module encompasses most of the Management Diploma and Certificate syllabus and then some it does not lead to a certification in its own right.

I have now moved to Australia and will therefore not be able to complete my MBA. I am wondering if there is any option to get at least some sort of formal recognition for the studies I have done so far, maybe by way of a short upgrade course or something similiar at your institution

Answer from Warwick Business School:

Dear Enquirer

We are often asked this question by students who have already started an MBA at other business schools, and for various reasons have chosen not to continue.

The Warwick MBA is a rigorous and rounded general management qualification for students who already have managerial experience and who wish to develop a career to stretch them and reach their full potential. For this reason, we do not grant any exemptions from subjects or courses. All students must complete the core subjects, and are able to develop their particular interests through selecting from the many elective subjects on offer.

The Warwick MBA by distance learning began in a small way in 1986 at WBS, and from 1993 has been fully accredited. We now have 2,000 distance learning students at various stages of MBA study; they come from 70 countries around the world. If you would like more information, you are very welcome to call Marie Scott, on +44 24 7652 4100, or browse our website at http://www.wbs.ac.uk/students/mba/distance_learning/

I am sorry we do not have such a thing. Good luck in finding an institution that can assist.
