1. What does it mean to you to have been selected as a "Global Leader for Tomorrow"?

"It's a great honor and a great responsibility. It is also a recognition by the World Economic Forum that it is not only possible, but necessary for educational institutions to work toward making this world a better and safer place. It is a reaffirmation that whatever we do in our organizations has to be ultimately related to that goal".

2. You have been selected by the World Economic Forum for what you have already done in your life, "holding positions of considerable power, influence and responsability". What are the 3-5 things you are most proud of?

Rather than proud, I am rather thankful of the opportunities life has offered me to do interesting things. By the age of 33 I had occupied two executive positions in higher education institution, which has given me the opportunity to contribute to shape the future of higher education in Spain. I am grateful for the educational opportunities I was given from the US and Spanish governments through the Fulbright program.

3. The World Economic Forum is "committed to improving improve the state of the world". You will participate in shaping tomorrow's world. What impact would you like to have?

I would like to help train a new class of responsible entrepreneurs that create social wealth by seeking opportunities to create value through new business ventures. The objective is to demonstrate that good business is perfectly compatible with social and environmental awareness

4.The World Economic Forum is also a forum to discuss the present state of the world economy. What is the analysis you would give?

Unlike the generalized assumption 20 years ago, globalization will not do away with differences among countries and cultures. If anything it will erase the surface, revealing more clearly than ever before the core differences among the peoples in the world. Only the realization of those differences can help create global development
